Today, I’m excited to be sharing our engagement story and part of our engagement photos taken in Naples, Florida in June!
June 3, 2023 was one of the BEST days of my life.
I got engaged to my best friend in Palm Beach! It still feels surreal and I’m so grateful and blessed that God gave me such an incredible man.
Our Engagement Story
On a Saturday morning in June, Carlos had a Palm Beach Day planned for us! I had an inkling that something special was going to happen this day. I was so excited that morning and I picked out and steamed my prettiest dress, made sure my nails were manicured, and carefully applied my makeup and curled my hair.
Carlos picked me up his green pick up truck and we made our way from Miami to Palm Beach.
We started off the day at Hive Bakery & Cafe, one of my favorite spots for coffee and breakfast in West PB. We enjoyed their complimentary biscuits and chatted and giggled over breakfast. This whole time I was anticipating the big question, because I had a feeling it was coming.
Then, we polished off our plates, took the rest of our iced lattes to-go and cruised over to the Clock Tower on PB island right by the beach. We parked, strolled along the sidewalk, took in the sights and simply enjoyed each other’s company.
Next, we finally arrived to the Clock Tower. At this point, the skies were getting darker and gloomier and it looked like it was about to pour…
All of a sudden, I spotted our photographer (and friend) from the corner of my eye and next thing I know, Carlos is down on one knee. He popped the big question and of course, you know the rest! The sun just so happened to shine in that moment, so we were able to enjoy a few moments of sunshine and pure bliss.
It was one of the happiest days of my life and one I will never forget. We could not stop smiling and we FaceTimed, called and texted our nearest and dearest. We finished off the Palm Beach day with a champagne toast at the Breakers, and made our way back to Miami where our families surprised us with a sweet engagement party!
So blessed to be in this sweet season of life and excited for what’s next. The best is yet to come!!!
The week after we got engaged in Palm Beach, it just so happened to be the weekend that my family has their annual beach trip in Naples, FL.
So, I immediately scoured the internet for Naples photographers and booked Brittany Bekas, along with a makeup artist. After that, I got to outfit planning — what I do best, ha! I ordered a blue and white floral linen dress from Reformation and a pair of classic Khakis for Carlos.
Finally, the engagement shoot date came around and we were so excited! We had two locations, the beach at sunset and a tennis court! Tennis is our hobby so I knew I wanted to include this fun hobby in our engagement photoshoot, which I’ll share soon.
We were praying that the rain wouldn’t cancel our planned shoot — because there was like a 70% chance of rain and if you know anything about living in Florida, you know that it rains every day in the summer!
Thankfully, the rain held up and we were able to enjoy the most fun, romantic engagement shoot ever. Our photographer was a dream to work with and she made it so fun and effortless. I would do it all over again and highly recommend her. Even Carlos enjoyed the photoshoot, and it was about an hour and a half. For someone that doesn’t enjoy taking photos, that’s saying something!
Thanks for reading and so happy I get to share bits of this beautiful and exciting season of life. I can’t wait to continue sharing more along the way!
