Sharing my intentions going into this new year!

A new year is always so exciting! There’s so much hope and possibility that lies ahead. Also who doesn’t love a good excuse to start fresh?
For quite a few years, I was all about making a long list of big lofty goals — things quickly became too overwhelming and when 2020 rolled around, I realized it wasn’t very realistic and I couldn’t come close to finishing half of them.
So last year, I made it quite simple and my goal was to read 35 books in a year — sadly I missed the mark by 5 books, ha! This year, my new goal is to read 24 books, which is something more realistic for me.
Either way, I wanted to do something totally different heading into this new year, and this is something that I’ve journaled about and prayed about for the past few weeks. I decided to set some intentions to guide my daily life in all areas of my live.
These are the intentions I want to have in mind this year (and beyond):
2022 Intentions
Gratitude
Peace
Generosity
Patience
Simplicity
I plan to write these down somewhere where I can see them each day, like a post-it note or as a screensaver in order to remind me to refocus on these intentions. These are all areas I personally want to improve in and I know it won’t be easy, but it’s all about cultivating small habits and reminders that slowly add up overtime! I hope and pray that you have a wonderful and blessed 2022!
ALSO, HERE’S A SWEET REMINDER THAT YOU DON’T NEED TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEW YEAR FOR A FRESH START AND A GRATEFUL HEART:
“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
This new day is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”
