Need some inspiration on some fun activities to do while you’re home? I’m sharing 5 fun activities below!
By now, it feels like we have done everything under the sun to keep ourselves busy at home! Either way, we could all use some extra inspiration on what to do to keep ourselves occupied and feeling optimistic during our time at home! My sister and I visited a flower farm recently and this little outing inspired me to put together a list of fun things to do during this time!
We are definitely so lucky to be safe at home, so here are some ways to continue to make the most out of it.
5 Fun Activities to do While Social Distancing
VISIT A FLOWER FARM OR ORDER A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS
What better time to visit a flower farm than springtime? Last weekend my sister and I went to a nearby flower farm to pick some flowers for our Easter table and turned out to be such a fun activity! It was such a nice reason to get out of the house and do something that was still in line with the social distancing rules. Fresh air, sunshine and beautiful flowers can do wonders. If you don’t have a nearby flower farm, I’d suggest buying yourself a bouquet of fresh flowers! They will instantly brighten your home and your mood.
Also, wanted to point out this Gal Meets Glam dress and these Gal Meets Glam x Margaux mules that I wore to go flower picking. (You know I adore all things GMG). Was it too dressy? Yes. But it honestly made it that much more fun! P.S. This dress runs a tad large so size down one size or order in your usual size and get it tailored. Also, the mules are so comfy and they run true to size.
BAKE OR COOK SOMETHING NEW
I’ve been spending a lot more time in the kitchen lately and it’s been so nice. Recently made some pesto burgers from scratch and they were a hit! We’ve also been making baked treats like cookies and banana bread on repeat here at home. Spend some time cooking up a new recipe and play your favorite music to make it even more fun! Here are some recipes I’m loving lately.
DO SOME ARTS AND CRAFTS
Another fun activity idea: arts and crafts! This weekend I borrowed my sister’s watercolor paints, put on some music and painted away. It was so much fun and it was a great way to take a break from all the screens. Besides painting, a fun craft I’ve seen a lot of people doing lately is making tie dye shirts! No matter what activity you choose, it will definitely be something fun and different.
GET DRESSED UP AND CELEBRATE HAPPY HOUR AT HOME
Who says you have to wait to get dressed up? Whenever you need a little pick me up, throw on your favorite spring dress and pour yourself a glass of wine or make your favorite cocktail. It will definitely do the trick! The other night I made some home-made margaritas, here is the recipe I used (minus the jalapeño) and they turned out so great! I wore an easy, comfy dress and it was the perfect weekend pick-me-up!
HAVE A FRIEND/FAMILY FACETIME DATE
Thank goodness for technology, am I right? This has been something I’ve been looking forward to over these past several weeks. My friends and I have dedicated some time to catch up and chat and it is SO nice to see them even if it’s just virtually. Even though it’s not the same as in-person, it still gives you something to look forward to!
