Styling outfits for everyday is so much easier when you know your go-to color palette.
When shopping for new pieces, packing for a trip or even looking through your closet deciding what to wear, have you noticed what colors stand out to you the most? What colors are you most drawn to? What colors do you feel most beautiful in that truly feel beautiful in?
You might already have a handful of colors that you wear almost exclusively without even realizing it! This past weekend was the perfect example of that for me. I packed for a weekend trip to Walt Disney World and brought along my go to colors: blue, white and pink, without even thinking. It was automatic!
So, What’s a Signature Wardrobe Color Palette?
It’s a selection of 3-5 colors that make up your wardrobe. For example, if you love wearing neutrals, your signature color palette is most likely any variety of grey, cream, tan, black. Or maybe you’re drawn to more vibrant, even tropical (think Lilly Pulitzer) colors, like blue, pink, purple, yellow, etc.
Like I mentioned, my go-to color palette is blush pink, white and navy/ baby blue. These are the colors that I wear most often and that I own the most of.
Of course, having a signature wardrobe color palette doesn’t mean you only dress in these colors and nothing else. Think of it more like a guideline to follow whenever you’re shopping, packing for a trip, choosing an outfit for an occasion or your day to day life.
Having a guideline for your style will help save you time and money because on one hand it will help simplify your daily outfits and on the other, you can shop with a clear idea of exactly what you like and will get the most wear out of.
How to Discover Your Wardrobe Color Palette
If you’re loving the idea of this go-to color palette, here are some easy steps on how to discover yours to make getting dressed so much easier.
- Take note of the pieces you wear most often
- Scroll through Pinterest for outfit inspiration and pin images that stand out to you
- Write down your top 3-5 favorite colors from your pieces and from Pinterest
After this, all you have to do is take a mental note or write it down in your phone notes. Or if you want to get extra creative, create a little personalized style mood board so you can keep coming back to it for inspiration. Knowing this will be a game changer for you when putting together outfits and shopping.
There you have it! Now you know exactly what colors you’re drawn to and how to stick to them.

I also use white and blue. I accent with coral in the summer and burgundy in the winter. I recently went on a month long vacation including a cruise and RV trip. I was able the really maximize my wardrobe choices using this method.
