How to Style a White Dress for Fall

Don’t tuck away your white spring and summer dresses just yet (or at all). Here are some simple tips on how to style a white dress for fall and beyond. 

Last weekend, I got to explore a charming town in Central Florida called Winter Park. The houses were stunning and there were romantic oak trees lining every street. It was absolutely dreamy and I am already looking forward to visiting again!

I wore a linen-cotton white midi dress by my favorite dress brand (you know what brand it is if you’ve been following along for a bit!) which was perfect for the breezy weather we experienced that weekend. It’s no longer in stock but I found it here on Poshmark! Here is a similar one.

Even though it’s fall, who says you can’t wear your spring and summer dresses any other time of the year? I recently snagged the dress on sale and I knew I wanted to wear it all year long no matter the season. 

So, if you want to get as much use out of your white dresses too, here are some tips you can follow to style a white dress for fall!

How to Style a White Dress for Fall

1. Opt for rich colored/ textured accessories
   Making a white dress work for fall is a matter of accessorizing. Add a black leather belt to accentuate the waist, tie a burgundy printed scarf and slip on some burgundy heels. 
2. Layer
   Layer a camel-colored sweater blazer over your white dress and slide on a pair of leopard loafers. Later on in the fall when it gets even colder, you can layer on a trench coat, add an emerald green headband, a green tartan scarf and hunter boots for extra warmth.

The options are truly endless with a combination of different accessories that you can rotate to continuously create a different look.

For this white dress, I opted for a brown leather belt, a brown leather mini purse, tan suede heels and a colorful printed scarf. The beauty of this look is that you can easily style this exact outfit for spring or summer by simply swapping out the red scarf and opting for a lighter colored one like this one.
