Sharing a little recap of our visit to Boca Grande, Florida a few weeks back!
Dress | Shoes | Bag | Earrings
Last month my boyfriend Julian and I road tripped to the west coast of Florida to visit his mom. We had a wonderful and relaxing time there, as always! She lives in a quant little town that’s so laid-back and so different from the hustle and bustle of Miami. It was SO nice to get away!
If you ever find your self on the west coast of Florida, Boca Grande is a must-see spot. A few spots to have on your radar if you plan to visit Boca Grande is The Gasparilla Inn and Club, The Loose Caboose for home-made ice cream (my favorite is the strawberry), J. McLaughlin, Gasparilla Island Lighthouse, and you must take a drive around the neighborhood to spot the prettiest houses, like this one. For a glimpse at the beautiful beach in Boca Grande, check out this post.
EXPLORING BOCA GRANDE
On our second to last day on the west coast of Florida, Julian and I got up early, grabbed a quick breakfast on the way and took advantage of the overcast (read: not-to-hot) day for a drive into Boca Grande.
Julian’s mom lives about 15-20 minutes from downtown, which is this charming coastal beach town called Boca Grande. I love heading into town every time I’m visiting because it is absolutely adorable and quintessentially old Florida.
I ultimately wanted to head to the Boca Grande area to visit the Gasparilla Inn… a must-see spot! It’s a lovely resort that’s decorated so beautifully. It truly belongs in a Coastal Living magazine! The property is lined with lovely palm trees and lush green landscaping, and the architecture is classic American style…my favorite! It’s got lots of pink decor, seashells and floral prints everywhere. Let’s just say, I felt right at home!
Florida is pretty hot and humid so I wanted to wear something extra breezy! I slipped on this pink and white striped halter dress, and paired it with my new go-to straw bag and pink espadrilles.
I loved the open back because it really kept me cool in the Florida heat. And if you haven’t pulled the trigger on these espadrilles yet, I couldn’t recommend them more! They really are the perfect spring and summer shoe and they help elevate your entire look. Not to mention they are extremely comfy. Perfect for spending the day exploring!
