Spring has officially sprung and I couldn’t be more thrilled. To kick off the new season, I’ll be showing you how to dress up a simple T-shirt dress in a few simple steps!

T-Shirt dresses are a versatile wardrobe staple that you can easily dress up or down. Not to mention, they are so comfy. Another thing I love about T-shirt dresses is that they’re a “throw on and go” kind of piece, which makes getting dressed a whole lot easier, am I right?
If you want take it up a notch and make it dressier, here’s how!
How to Dress Up a T-Shirt Dress
1. Add a Hat
A straw hat instantly adds glamour to your look. It makes me think of fabulous Kentucky Derby looks (here) or laid-back, yet classy beach/poolside lounging (here). This accessory alone is sure to take your T-shirt dress to the next level.
2. Pair with a statement purse
A statement purse is one that draws attention to your look and makes it that much more interesting. A wicker crossbody bag does just the trick and it’s one that you will carry with you all spring and summer long!
3. Pair with heels or wedges
Nothing says dressy like a pair of heels or wedges to elevate your look! I styled mine with this pair of espadrille wedges and they are so comfy. I’m all about style but being comfortable is a top priority for me. Don’t you feel unstoppable wearing a pair of cute yet comfy shoes?
4. Style with a scarf
You can never go wrong with adding a scarf to your look, at least most of the time! A scarf like this one can add such a dainty and feminine touch to your otherwise simple and casual T-shirt dress, it is pretty much a no-brainer. Here, I draped it around my neck but you can wear it tied around your neck like I did in this post, or tied around your handbag (seen here), or even worn as a headband! The options are endless and it will add a nice statement to your outfit.
Whichever way you choose to style your T-shirt dress, know that the options are endless and you can be really creative with how you style it. That’s the fun in getting dressed! You can make it special and unique by adding your favorite accessories.
I like to style mine with a jean jacket. It works either around the waist or fully on. Love the look it creates.
