I’m sharing my simple hair care routine as well as tips on how to maintain healthy hair and prevent split ends!
This time of year is the best time to refresh your routine by trying out a new product or fitting in some more self care. It’s a great way to add bit of luxury to your regular day. I have several tried-and-true products that I use regularly. Recently, however, I added this shampoo and conditioner into my routine.
The shampoo and conditioner I’ve been using is from a Palm Beach based salon called Salon pHactor. Though it’s only been a week since I started using them, it has been keeping my hair really soft and moisturized. The products are very light and hydrating and the scent is clean and somewhat masculine. I will say that I prefer a floral or subtly sweet smell. Also, I normally use a drugstore shampoo and conditioner.
With that in mind, this is not something I would purchase on a regular basis because it’s a little on the higher priced side for hair products. Fortunately, I was given these to try out and see how I liked them. Nonetheless, I have been loving the results. It leaves my hair looking and feeling very smooth and I’ve gotten lots of sweet complements on my hair, over on Instagram.
I’d say it has been a great addition to my simple hair care routine. My routine is just a handful of steps that require inexpensive products. Plus, I have a few extra tips you can use to maintain healthy hair and prevent split ends! I don’t even use a deep-conditioning mask and I haven’t had split ends in years.
My Simple Hair Care Routine
Wash Hair 2-3 Times a week (max)
I have been making a conscious effort to wash my hair less. I used to wash it and blow dry it just about every day (crazy right?). But it quickly became too high maintenance. Not to mention, very damaging! At the moment, I wash it at most three times a week and I blow dry it too.
Spray with conditioning spray
After I wash my hair, I spray this detangling spray that primes, softens and conditions your hair. It makes detangling a breeze, which is a must if you have long hair! It also smells like apple, and I love anything that has a soft, sweet scent.
Wrap hair in a microfiber towel
After I spray my hair with the detangling spray and detangle it with a wide-toothed comb, I wrap my hair with this microfiber hair towel. This will help to get out any excess moisture that way it can dry faster. Meaning, it will help shorten the time spent heat styling – major plus!)
Apply heat protectant & blow dry
Next, I spray this heat protectant spray all over my hair and section it to blow dry it. I am guilty of forgetting this step but it is important! Heat styling can damage your hair over time so this is a great way to help prevent further damage.
Apply smoothing oil
To finish this off, I like to use a dime-size amount of this coconut oil and shea butter smoothing oil. I feel that it really makes a difference and keeps my hair in place, smooth, soft and shiny. It’s the perfect finishing touch to this simple routine!
Bonus: Download my FREE 5-minute healthy hair checklist that will walk you throw how to maintain healthy hair and prevent split ends. It’s what I use to prevent split ends and it has worked, since I haven’t had split ends in years.
