Today, I’m sharing some Thanksgiving outfit ideas to get you ready for the upcoming holiday and to give you some inspiration!
Happy November, everyone! I am so excited for the Holiday season. Get togethers, comfort food, cooler weather and festive decor everywhere you look…what’s not to love? My favorite part about Thanksgiving is gathering with loved ones and eating delicious food. I’m a big fan of an all-American meal so I look forward to it every year.
Though, it hasn’t always been that way in my home. Being hispanic, my family ate pork with rice and beans for every Thanksgiving. Which I love! But, in high school I decided to “intervene” and I gave our family gathering a major all-American overhaul. I watched the Food Network for ideas, gathered the best Thanksgiving recipes on Pinterest and prepared an entire turkey along with sides, with the help of my mom! Ever since then, we have enjoyed a delicious American Thanksgiving meal – thanks to me ha!
In honor of one of the best holidays, I’m sharing some outfit ideas to get you in the spirit. Because it’s never too soon to plan your Holiday outfits. Honestly, I think it’s even better to plan ahead because of the busyness of the Holiday season. It seems as though our to-do list grows more and more during this time of year. So, I’m going to help give you one less thing to worry about with these 5 casual Thanksgiving outfit ideas.
Casual Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
Long-sleeved top & Houndstooth skirt
Photography By Kaleena Thompson
How adorable is this ruffled hem houndstooth skirt? Earlier this Fall, I shared a poll on Instagram asking for your help deciding which top to pair this skirt with. It was between this or a black turtleneck and you all chose this one! This skirt is my favorite Fall purchase to date because it’s so versatile and classic. Houndstooth plaid is a Fall essential. I love pairing a plaid print with a piece in a color found in the print, like this dusty-rose top. Style this look with some comfy and classic booties that can easily be dressed up or down.
Chambray Shirt & Suede Skirt
For a cute and cozy Thanksgiving outfit, you can’t go wrong with this one! You might remember seeing this look earlier this Fall when I shared how to style a chambray shirt for Fall. This chambray shirt (currently 40% off) and suede skirt combo is so comfortable. Pair it with classic brown leather loafers (these are on sale, plus they’re offering 25% off with code CHILL25) and you’ve got ultimate comfort with minimal effort.
A cream sweater & jeans
A cream sweater and a pair of dark jeans (which are currently BOGO 50% off) is a classic combination. It’s what I’ll most likely end up wearing for my own Thanksgiving plans. While it’s polished and put-together, it’s not too dressed-up for wearing inside the comfort of your own/ someone’s home. Add a floppy felt hat and a leather belt to give it an extra-chic touch!
A plaid shirt & Wool Skirt
This look is easily one of my favorites that I’ve worn this Fall. The plaid shirt is casual and masculine while the wool skirt is more feminine. I think it would be perfect for a cozy Thanksgiving dinner, especially because of the elastic waistband (because we could all use a little extra room for seconds and dessert!) Though, I’d swap out the Hunters for a pair of flats or loafers to make it more appropriate for the home.
Burgundy Jacket & Leopard Flats
So many of you swooned over this post because of the burgundy jacket, and with good reason! (This one is from Target last year…while it’s no longer available, I’ve linked a similar one) Throw on a quilted jacket like this one over a sweater on a cool Thanksgiving night. It adds an extra layer of warmth while also adding some sophistication to your Thanksgiving outfit. Pair it with leopard flats (40% off with code BRFRIEND) to really make it pop and add a bit of fun.
