Happy October 1st everyone! This time of year is so wonderful and exciting. During this time, you may want to shop for some Fall wardrobe essentials so you can be ready for of those fun autumn activities. Though, all of that shopping can quickly add up. Which is why I’m sharing 5 ways that you can save money on clothes, starting today.
These shopping tips and tricks will ensure you are shopping on a budget and that you snag that good-quality brand-name piece at a better price!
5 Ways to Save Money On Clothes
- Shop Off-the-Rack Retailers
Visit discounted brand-name stores to find designer pieces for a fraction of the price. Sure, it may take a little extra time to search. However, it’s worth the extra time if you’re looking for a good-quality piece to add to your wardrobe. Some options for you: Nordstrom Rack, T.J. Maxx, Banana Republic Factory, J. Crew Factory, Saks off 5th, Neiman Marcus Last Call. You will notice that each of these stores are offering amazing markdowns and sales at the moment. - Search for an Alternative
To get the most bang for your buck, if you are browsing one of your favorite stores online or in person, take note of the item that caught your eye and search for it at a more affordable store. For instance, I had my eye on a pair of suede knee-high boots from Nordstrom that were about $70 but when I searched for those keywords on the Target site, I found a very similar pair for under $50! - Shop on Sale
If you want to get that must-have item at your favorite retailer, wait until there is a sale! The extra time spent waiting will be worth it when you realize how much you saved in the end. Also, check the clearance section and end-of-season deals. That swimsuit you couldn’t get your hands on this past summer, is most likely marked down right now! Some stores that are always having sales are LOFT, Old Navy and J. Crew Factory. In fact, they are all having major sales right now! - Use Trusty Tools
For online shopping, I swear by these trusty tools: the Honey and RetailMeNot extensions for Google Chrome. The extensions are simple to use. Simply download them in the Google Play App Store. Once you have installed them, visit your favorite retailer’s website. Then, the extensions find, combine and apply coupon codes and savings for you! With the click of a button, you can see the total in your shopping cart go down! I will be demonstrating how to do this on Instagram Stories this week so be sure to follow along, here. - Shop Pre-Owned
This can apply to clothes as well but if you find yourself wanting a high-end designer purse or pair of shoes but not ready to make the investment, there are some ways you can still get it. Sites like Poshmark, eBay and The RealReal offer authentic pre-owned designer pieces that are marked down because they are pre-owned. A lot of the items listed can be found new with tags and you can also negotiate your way to a lower price, so that’s an added bonus.
