FALL WARDROBE ESSENTIALS: THE BREAKDOWN
JACKETS, SWEATERS AND TOPS
- Trench Coat: A trench coat is truly a classic wardrobe essential that can be worn year-round. In the Fall, pair it with boots or loafers and a white shirt layered under a sweater. I don’t have one but I’m coveting one this season!
- Tweed Jacket: This tweed jacket is absolutely lovely for the Fall! It can be dressed down with jeans and a tee or dressed up with a dress and heels. I love how Julia styled it, here and here.
- Puffer Vest: A puffer vest is perfect for those cool Autumn days when you want a bit of extra warmth! Style it with a striped sweater and jeans for a comfy and polished look. See how I styled mine, here, in my “style” highlight.
- Black Sweater and Heather Sweater: Sweaters like these are definitely ones that you will be wearing in rotation all throughout the season. These neutral shades match with everything and anything!
- Quilted Jacket: A burgundy quilted jacket is just what you need for a practical, yet stylish Fall ensemble. Believe it or not, burgundy is almost like a neutral in the Fall because the deep hue pairs well with most outfits.
- White Shirt: It goes without saying that a white button down shirt is an all-time classic. For this season, you can style it with jeans or a skirt, knee-high boots and a houndstooth blazer.
BOTTOMS AND ACCESSORIES
- Suede Skirt: You might remember seeing me style this suede skirt, here. A camel-colored suede skirt is a no-brainer and most definitely a Fall wardrobe essential.
- Dark Denim: A pair of slim, dark denim jeans are a closet staple piece. The dark color complements seasonal tones so well. See how I styled this pair, here.
- Plaid Dress: Plaid is a Fall (and Winter) must-have! This seasonal pattern works well for many occasions from work, to school, to dinner and more. Since this dress is a statement piece, keep it simple and style it with black pumps and a burgundy satchel.
- Rain Boots: Hunter boots are perfect for those Fall days spent adventuring or when braving a rainy day. These boots would look great with a pair of jeans, chinos, or a suede or corduroy skirt.
- Suede Boots: Nothing beats suede boots for Autumn. I’m thinking this color would pair beautifully with dark denim and a striped rust-colored sweater.
- Houndstooth Scarf: This is by far the best scarf I have seen so far this season. It is reversible and both sides have the perfect pattern that will match so well with most of your season’s outfits!
- Tortoise Sunglasses: These classic tortoise sunglasses are a must! Wear your sunnies with just about any look, for a polished and put-together feel.
- Scalloped Flats: PSA… these flats are the most comfortable flats I’ve ever owned. I have them in a taupe color but I think I need to buy them in every color because they’re THAT good. Truthfully, these flats work well with your favorite dressy or casual Fall outfit!
- Leopard Loafers: Leopard is also like a neutral in the Fall…seriously! This Fall wardrobe essential can be styled in so many ways. For some style inspiration, I love how Abigail styled a pair of leopard flats, here.
- Satchel: This purse is everything you need for the Fall. I love how it complements the gorgeous shades of the season. This one is a less expensive (but just as cute) version that I’m currently eyeing!
