A denim skirt is a wardrobe staple that every girl needs in her closet. They have made a major comeback in the last year and there are so many different styles to choose from! You can ultimately wear it in so many ways and either dress it up or dress it down. Think of a denim skirt as an elevated version of denim shorts! You can style a denim skirt with pretty much any top. Consider wearing it with a tee, a blouse or a button-down shirt. In today’s post I’m sharing simple ways to dress up a denim skirt.
So far, this is the only denim skirt I own, but I’m looking forward to slowly adding more into my closet. I definitely have my eye on this one and this one! Last summer I bought this high-waisted, dark wash one from LOFT. I find it to be very classic because of the shade and the silhouette. It’s definitely become a staple piece in my wardrobe. I decided to dress up my denim skirt a bit with an off-the-shoulder cropped blouse and strappy sandals.
HOW TO DRESS UP A DENIM SKIRT
- Dress up a denim skirt with a classic and feminine top. A dressy blouse can also make it look elegant.
- Pair it with strappy sandals to elevate the whole look.
- Opt for high heels if you want to dress it up even more.
- Add in some feminine accessories like a scarf tied around your hair, draped around your shoulders, or tied around your waist like a belt.
- Finally, dress up a denim skirt with a classic purse, like this one. A small bag will complement your outfit without drawing attention away from it.
